If you hate smoke, this is not your place. Typical bar/restaurant place. But for some God awful reason you can still smoke in this establishment. The staff is usually comprised of very attractive waitresses and bartenders(five stars) and a few bouncers. The food is average, nothing to get excited about. Especially since you have to deal with all the nasty smoke. Its better just to grab a beer or two and then roll.

This is the absolute BEST pizza in Fort Smith! It is definitely a bar complete with smoky atmosphere- which is why it only gets 4 stars, but if you don't mind the smoke or can enjoy the patio, you'll love the pizza!

Since we moved to Ft. Smith in 2013, this has been our go to spot for pizza, wings, and drinks. It also accommodates my love of cigar smoking on days when the weather outside doesn't. If smoke is a problem for you, this not the place for you. There are plenty of non-smoking restaurants to choose from. If you order wings, ask for the dry rub along with the sauce. It's makes them mighty tasty. The Parm Special is our favorite pizza selection. It's stout and you'll most likely take some home. The staff are always friendly and check on us frequently. If you're a frequent visitor, they usually know what you want as soon as you take a seat, but they always ask just to make sure. We generally go early evenings and on weekdays and we understand that weekend traffic tends to be a younger, rowdier crowd.

Seriously, stellar pizza. I feel confident that this is the best pizza of my life and I shared it with good people so that helps. This is the cheeseburger bacon version. The cheese is thick and honestly, like no other. The beer selection is better than the other places in downtown but not great. The staff is good. Be warned, the pizza takes time but it's beyond worth it. I will remember Arkansas fondly for this pizza alone. ***back for more almost a year later. I have no attachment to Arkansas but I will always come back for this damn pizza. It's honestly the best! Upping to a five star after confirming it wasn't a fluke!

It was a good place in general, but nothing was really above average; that being said, there wasn't anything sub-par that I could find either. As a bonus, it did seem that there were a large number of singles hanging out there, so it's probably a good place to meet new people. I would go back.

I love this bar. Great pizza. Great staff. Great drinks. Looking at the other reviews I find it funny that anyone who gave less than 4 stars were complaining about adults legally smoking in an adult only establishment.

  • S B.

Amazing pizza. Best anywhere around. But the smoke is terrible. Most nights it looks like any minute a swarm of firefighters will be busting down the door. Love the pizza. But you'll need to wash your at least 3 or 4 times to get rid of the smoke stench.

  • Donna W.

The smoke is SO strong! And I was just walking by the place and it reeked thru the closed door!!!

  • Jamie E.

The food is ok, but nothing special. The atmosphere is confusing-very noisy, extremely smoky from cigarettes, the waitresses have an "I don't care" attitude and it takes way too long to get your food.

We overnighted in a nearby hotel, and chose to order take-out pizza from this restaurant. The pizza was disappointing - thick crust, with perhaps the consistency of a very chewy/doughy cracker, with an average sauce and generous toppings and cheese. The mushrooms, I think, were canned/not fresh, and the cheese was bland and rubbery. On a positive note, the employees seemed very friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere would have been conducive to a fun evening, cigarette smoke notwithstanding. The reviews which warn about the smoky atmosphere are absolutely true; if cigarette smoke bothers you, stay away from this place. Moreover, this place doesn't allow anyone under the age of 21 to enter, so even if you were to choose to pick up a take-out order, don't bring your children with you.

Best pizza in fort Smith. I always get good friendly service. My favorite is the pizza supreme. Also great outdoor seating and drinks

Excellent pizza, friendly wait staff, great ambiance, decent drinks. I defiantly recommend the place if you're looking for a casual experience.

  • Mike G.

Not much has changed here since some of the older reviews. The pizza is fresh, but it's nothing to write home about. I would definitely have a few beers next time before getting the pizza. The bar is definitely smoky, so that was a major negative for me. On the plus side, the kitchen is open until midnight and all of the staff was very nice and friendly.

Papa's serves a very serious pizza. It's thick and loaded with toppings. You may remember it as the old Godfather's recipe. I don't, but everyone older than me tells me this with full confidence that it is true. So... I take it as gospel. This establishment is a hangout for business professionals in the early evening on weeknights -- they eat the pizza and drink a few beers. Then, the crowd changes to something else entirely. Papa's is also a place where the youth tends to congregate during Thanksgiving, winter break, summer break, etc.... It becomes crowded early in the evening and the spillover then disperses to surrounding bars. The drinks seem slightly overpriced by Fort Smith standards. The music often sucks. The crowds can get rowdy. But they have shuffleboard!

I love Papas! Been going there for years! I happen to know the owner, & I know that he has a great place there! Good pizza, drinks & fun!! Check it out, & his other place, the Rib Room!

Beer selection is OK for the area. I do recommend the Mustang Washita Wheat, which is delish. As far as service goes, it's not to bad, but hopefully the waiters and waitresses aren't too busy smoking a cigarette or serving/talking to one of the locals. The pizza is is great drunk food if you don't mind premade dough, little to no sauce and toppings under your cheese with little to no care put in to the final product. The biggest thing about Papa's is the fact that they close at 2am and that they make last call anywhere between 1 and 115am and if you are not gone by 145 am, they will pour your drinks back into the well and the @sshole with the cool neck tattoos will bounce you out. He will also check your IDs multiple times to make sure you are of legal age. Bottom line is, unless you are willing to blow money on mediocre pizza and have your drink poured out at the end of the night, you should avoid it at all costs. Thanks for reading my review and please take it for what it's worth.

Great pizza, but my hair stiiiiiinks even after getting takeout. Boo. It's worth it if you send someone else in to get it. Otherwise, there's other places to get pizza.

I was traveling in town for a wedding, and I was having trouble finding a place to go out with friends. I found Papa's randomly and I am glad my group went here. We went late but were able to find a table for our party of 10. The scene was pretty young (mid-20s) which was great. The best part was the music (no country) and the CHEAP drinks (I live in SF so it was cheap to me.) I ordered 5 beers and a cocktail and it totaled $16.50. We thought we would bar hop but we ended up staying there all night because of the music. Even though it was crowded, it was not too difficult to get a drink at the bar. I heard the pizza was good but we only went to drink.

Great pizza, but unless you can tolerate lots of smoke get it for takeout. Seriously, you will smell like an ashtray after more than 15 minutes inside but the pizza is worth it.
